The narrative revolves around Akane, an ordinary high school student who inexplicably finds herself transported to ancient Japan's Heian period in Kyoto. However, her mission for time-traveling becomes uncertain as Akram, the leader of the Oni Clan and her adversary, seeks to annihilate Kyoto. In order to safeguard her, Akane is accompanied by a group of eight male defenders known as the Hachiyou (Eight Leaves). Will they manage to shield her from harm?
