In a remote village, twins were born with a day-night separation. Yuru, the older twin, became an expert hunter, while Asa was burdened with a special duty, locked in a cage, and allowed to interact with only a few. One uneventful day, a group of armed men rode into the village on helicopters, called "dragons," seeking Yuru. They massacred everyone except Yuru. When he tries to save his sister, he discovers her lifeless body. Furthermore, the attacker claims to be Yuru's true twin sister. Just as he's about to be captured, a stranger named Dera intervenes and rescues him. However, they are soon trapped again. Dera advises Yuru to seek refuge in the village's deity by offering a present, which summons "tsugai," a duo whose mission is to uncover the truth behind the chaos.
