Includes also oneshot: "Hi Manyuaru Ren Ai": Akio suffers because of the harsh words that the man that left him used ‘If you only were a woman, it would be a lot better.’ Asking himself ‘Why did you say something like that?’ He runs into a friend in a bar, who also was left by his partner. They’re both uke, but they try to do it anyway. Could it be that one of them has an interior seme? What will happen?
An ordinary Japanese man dies and is sent to another world. The twist, though is... well... you know that Pixar movie Onward? Or Bright, the one with Will Smith? Basically, a setting where magic and dungeons and dragons are all real, but so much time has passed that they’ve developed a society similar to ours so you have orks working on their college dissertations in coffee shops while siren baristas use magic to create more decaf? Where political leaders instead established protests in segregated taverns to establish equality between humans and demonkind? Where farmers peddle mandrakes and slime extract at farmers markets so that health-savvy elves can make potion smoothies and then post a picture of them on Instagram? Yeah, it’s like that. Anyway, enjoy the story of the MC realizing that none of his skills from the old world will wow people in this new world because they already invented soy sauce and crop rotation and double-book accounting on their own. https://www.pixiv.net/en/artworks/77644407
The typical Kochikame plot involves Ryo-san coming up with a money-making scheme by inventing a new gadget or capitalizing on a fad, achieving great success, calling on Nakagawa's help as things turn sour, and finally losing it all as the fad runs out of steam or out of control. While the plots are gag-driven, much of the humor comes from the juxtaposition of mundane characters with the bizarrely incongruous (Nakagawa's wealth, Maria's appeal, everyone's lack of actual police work), most of which is never explained or rationalized in the slightest. Kochikame has a broad audience, ranging from adolescent boys to middle-aged salarymen. Much like Homer Simpson, Ryo-san's antics appeal to children who can laugh at an old buffoon and to men fearing that they are becoming old buffoons themselves. The stories are generally innocent in content, and what little violence appears is comical, while the occasional risqué subjects are included strictly for laughs rather than to titillate. In another parallel to The Simpsons, Kochikame's immense popularity has lead to guest appearances in the strip by Japanese celebrities such as Tetsuya Komuro. (From Wikipedia)
